March Events & Happenings

It's been a busy year here at Second Ascent & we have a lot of exciting events just around the corner.

Coming up...

We have the man, the myth, the legend, the vagabond, the split boarder...Kyle Miller is coming back for his annual visit to his beloved state of Washington. Over the past three years, Eddie Bauer athlete, Kyle has traveled to the four corners of the earth with nothing but a warm heart, sincere smile and a splitboard. Join us on March 23rd for a fun evening as he shares stories of growing up in the greater Seattle area, gaining experience in the Cascades while taking his mountaineering skills to New Zealand, aspect hunting in Norway and powder slaying in Japan.

Join us for an evening of steep skiing stoke with Julbo Eyewear skier C.J. Carter.

CJ will share slides and stories from ski expeditions from Mongolia to the Alps and introduce the latest short film collection from Julbo.

The main feature film is the Glen University Session, a trip to Chamonix France with skiing pioneer Glen Plake and fellow Julbo athletes Tom Runcie and Samuel Anthamatten.

Presentation will wrap with brew from Northwest Peaks Brewery and some Q+A

February Wrap up...

 5Point Film Festival

This past month we brought 5Point Film Festival back to Seattle for the second year in a row. Packing out SIFF Cinema with over 400 psyched climbers, skiers, mountain bikers and outdoor enthusiasts we raised over $3k for The American Alpine Club, Northwest Avalanche Center & Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance.

This event would not have been possible without all our amazing sponsors & all of you who came out to support this amazing event.

Antarctica | Antarctica an exploration of nature ice & life

We had the privilege of hosting local climber, scientist & photographer, Alasdair Tuner, as he took us on a photographic journey through the fragile ecosystems that make up a major part of the Ross Sea & the science that is being done to understand the Antarctic. Learn more about Alasdair's work with Blue Earth and view his photography here
